Developments to Date §Through the Childcare Development Workers in the Local Development Companies in the County, private and community childcare providers have been supported in developing and sustaining their service, information has been disseminated to childcare providers and parents and ongoing training has been provided for childcare workers §A Parent’s Guide to Childcare in Kerry has been pubished §Community and Private Childcare Provider networks have been established §Best Practice is promoted through childcare training seminars, a resource library … §The Diversity Forum supports integration in childcare services. There is ongoing liaison with relevant agencies and training and information is provided on equality and diversity issues §Childminding is promoted— information, assistance and support is offered to those interested in establishing or developing a home-based childcare service §Inclusive childcare provision for children with additional needs is promoted— workshops, conference, an Awareness Day and a Fetac Level 2 Special Needs module have been organised §Let’s have Fun!!! - a manual on physical activities for different age groups from birth to 6 years has been launched and is available from Kerry County Childcare Committee at €10.
