Management Committee Network A Network for the members of management committees of Childcare services in South Kerry was launched on Thursday, 21st February in the Sean Scoil, Sunhill, Killorglin. These meetings will offer a chance to management committee members to share their experiences and skills. There will also be a training opportunity at each meeting with a guest expert speaker each night. Topics that challenge all groups will be covered such as staff support and supervision, dignity and respect in the workplace, conflict resolution and team-building. Case studies of good practice will be examined.
Association of Childcare Professionals (South Kerry Branch) Plans are well advanced to form this body in South Kerry. A committee has been nominated and it is hoped that by June 2008, membership will be formally opened. The Association of Childcare Professionals (South Kerry Branch) will be a non-profit organisation, founded to promote recognition of professionals in early childhood care and education. We believe that both a strong support network and continuing education lead to the development of quality childcare professionals and quality childcare services.
