Community Pre-schools
What are Community Pre-schools? Community Pre-schools are organised by parents in the local community who want their pre-school children to play and learn together. Community Pre-schools allow Parents to have a say in the way their pre-school operates. Community Pre-schools usually offer low-priced childcare that everyone can afford. Community Pre-schools sometimes offer an integrated full-day service for the children of the community. Who runs a Community Pre-school? Parents elect a management committee. The management committee employ pre-school workers who are responsible for the day-to-day running of the pre-school. The management committee meets on a regular basis to liase with the pre-school leaders and to discuss policies and practices, financial matters and many other decisions of the playgroup. |
